Remaking a wedding dress from a tomesode

Hello. This is Rurimon, a kimono remake studio in Aoba-dai, Yokohama. We received a tomesode (formal kimono) and remade it into a dress for a wedding ceremony. Creating a dress that makes the most of the tomesode's patterns is always the most challenging part. Where should we position the pattern at the center front? We don't want to cut apart the patterns if possible. Should we place the design at the hem or bring it up to the upper body...? We make various proposals, do a fitting, and only after receiving the customer's approval do we put scissors to the kimono fabric. It's always a nerve-wracking moment.
This time as well, it turned out to be a wonderful dress!

I'll make it with the most vibrant pattern slightly offset from the center front.

This time, a pattern was added all the way around the hem.
