Remaking a dress from a tomesode (formal kimono)

Hello. We are Rurimon, a kimono remaking atelier based in Aobadai, Yokohama. We received a tomesode (formal kimono) adorned with auspicious noshi patterns and tailored it into a dress. It is truly magnificent, with lavish gold accents throughout. Deciding where to place the center front, and where to add seams so the patterns flow without interruption… it is a wonderfully enjoyable challenge to work through. This piece turned out beautifully once again! We hear it will be worn at a graduation ceremony — we hope it will also convey the beauty of Japanese traditional craftsmanship to the students.
