A remake coat made from kimono fabric, with the lining made from a kimono worn at a Shichi-Go-San celebration.

Hello! This is Rurimon, a kimono remake atelier based in Aoba-dai, Yokohama.
We received a beautiful purple kimono and crafted an original-design coat from it. The client's most heartfelt request was to use a childhood Shichi-Go-San kimono as the lining. I'll admit I had a moment of hesitation, wondering if the fabric might not slide as smoothly as ideal — but when the coat was finished, I was truly moved, thinking, "What a wonderful idea this turned out to be!" The vibrant, festive pattern of the child's kimono complemented the sophisticated, chic aesthetic of the outer fabric perfectly.
Once again, this project taught me so much.
