Remade a smartphone case using leftover fabric from a coat

Hello. We are Rurimon, a kimono-to-Western clothing remake atelier based in Aobadai, Yokohama.
A customer who previously entrusted us with two kimono items — a kimono fabric and a children's kimono she herself had worn for her Shichi-Go-San celebration — and had them remade into a coat, has now requested that we create a smartphone case using the remaining fabric.
Since it is kimono fabric, I did wonder whether it would hold up under the weight of a heavy smartphone... however, by applying the thickest available interfacing, the fabric became strong enough to bear the weight, and we were able to complete a truly lovely smartphone case. The outer fabric from the coat was used as the inner lining, while the charming and vibrant Shichi-Go-San kimono fabric was used for the exterior. The cord is also made from the same fabric.
I am so looking forward to seeing her use it together with the coat we delivered to her!
