Remake wide-leg pants from a mourning kimono

Hello. We are Rurimon (瑠璃門), a kimono-to-Western clothing remake studio based in Aoba-dai, Yokohama. We received a mourning kimono and remade it into a pair of wide-leg pants. While people often speak of "mourning black" as a single color, when you actually compare fabrics side by side, there are subtle variations in depth and shade — and the mourning black of the kimono entrusted to us this time was a truly deep, beautiful black. Although the wide-leg pants feature a simple design, we carefully carried out a fitting to ensure the hem width matched the client's preference and that there would be no strain around the hips, finishing the piece with great attention to detail. We believe this has become a garment that can be cherished and worn for many years to come.
